Entry for August 03, 2006 Roofing materials have arrived – so I guess that we will get a roof soon! Also, there isn’t much wood left on our lawn, so we figure they are mostly finished with the framing. Can’t wait to see the “reverse” gable above the right side of the house. We now have to pick out the bathroom vanity and tile. So many choices. This is going way too fast for us to think….

Its 110 degrees today – I believe the men left early today…understandibly so!

We had to pick a roof last night – so we walked around the neighborhood to help us pick. We were leaning towards a blue roof, but thought it might be too blue – so went with a dark gray with blue highlights – not very exciting news today….sorry.

Framing is up! – Layout ended up being slightly different than what was agreed upon. It seems the workers had a different design than what we had. However, we think its a better design – so not really a big deal, just lose a small amount of closet space in one of the bedrooms. It will make the upstairs hallway roomier though and I like that idea.

It’s going to feel like 105 today and I was expecting the site to be shut down due to the heat, but the guys showed up this morning! They must be crazy!

Framing Begins!

Not much was completed last Friday because it looked like it was going to downpour, so they stopped working early in the day. Today and tomorrow are going to be georgeous – but very hot – hope the workers keep hydrated.

Levittown Progress

Entry for July 27, 2006 We have a building permit! So no more nightmares from that respect…thank goodness! This photo is from today at lunch. They have been working on the beams, so at first glance there is not much progress, but they have been adding the support that will hold up the dormer. Notice the build up of wood along the perimeter. They had to take down our satelite receiver when they destroyed the second floor. We have not had service since. They said they would look into it, but so far there is nada! I have a call into LevitStyle today with advice from Direct TV – hopefully they will call back soon…before Entourage this Sunday!

Levitstyle Showed Up!

Entry for July 26, 2006 The crew was there as late as 6:45 last night cleaning up the debris. I woke up with nightmares that LevitStyle would not show up today due to some issue with the building permit, but bright and early at 7:30 the crew arrived and started. At night the house is covered in a ginormous green tarp, so you can’t see what was done that day. This is the picture of the house after they took the tarp off this morning.

Last Wednesday, Levitstyle started by gutting the entire upstairs of our house and on July 24th they started taking apart the roof. We look like victims of a natural disaster, not voluntary participants in the “Destroy my house so you can rebuild it” game.
